In observance of Black History Month, many of our publishing partners have been sharing free content in their communities that you can integrate into your classroom activities. Following is some of the top shared content we’ve come across this week. If you have any great resources to share, please post in the Edmodo communities or leave a comment below.
- iCivics provides free lesson plans, games, and other resources to make teaching and learning about civics fun, exciting, and relevant. Check out the new curriculum unit on civil rights, shared in their Edmodo Community this week – View Civil Rights Curriculum.
- ReadWorks provides free, research-based lessons and non-fiction reading passages for teaching reading comprehension in grades K-6. Take a look at their featured units, lessons, and reading passages for Black History Month – View Reading Passages.
- VocabularySpellingCity helps teachers and students enjoy learning vocabulary and spelling. In honor of Black History Month they have shared a pre-made word list or you have the option to make your own! – View Word List
