Last year we held our very first global user conference, EdmodoCon. The goal in creating this event was to provide a gathering place for educators around the globe who believe in the power of collaboration and social media to improve education worldwide. The event drew in nearly 2,000 teachers from 51 countries around the globe, far exceeding our expectations for our first event.

As we begin planning for EdmodoCon 2012, we want to ensure that the event continues to be a valuable gathering place for educators to share, inspire and celebrate the creative ways you are using Edmodo in the classroom. And we want this year’s event to be even more engaging and inspirational than last years. As with all things we do, we believe the best way to make this happen is to enlist the help of our educator community.

Later this month we will be holding an EdmodoCon 2012 Advisory Meeting. The meeting is designed to be a forum for passionate educators who want to provide input on the topics and content that would provide the most value to attendees of EdmodoCon 2012. All of the ideas and feedback discussed will help us create the agenda and call for speakers for this year’s event.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 26th at 3:30 pm PST.  If you are interested in participating, please complete this form.

Please note that we’d like to keep the advisory meeting to a manageable number of attendees to ensure the most value. As such, only 10 educators will be selected to participate.

It would be great to add a “like” button to show more emotion/support of students’ posts… like Facebook’s “like” feature.

I will be attending my son’s Science Fair that night, but I would’ve loved to be a part of the meeting. As far as topics, I think the new app integration will be a must and an obvious choice.

edmodo has always done such a great job with keeping people up to date on the uses for edmodo. I think highlighting the different perspectives throughout the EdmodoCon would help. When talking with others on how they use edmodo, everyone seems to customize their experience. There is not one way to do edmodo, and I think if you have a wide-variety of those experiences throughout the day or days, you will be able to showcase the many faces of edmodo.

    Have fun!

It would be great if I could sign up for different notification reminders within each group. For some groups I want to be notified immediately regarding every post. For others, a daily summary would be great. I’m also wondering if it’s possible to designate which notifications I want sent to my phone and which to my email. In addition, will the app handle push notifications in the near future? Thanks!

I’m from New Zealand and I was wondering if there is any way we can search for edmodo users in our own country/city? I’m keen to start making connections between schools, but am unaware of who else is connected to edmodo in my city and country.

At the time, there is not a way to search for teachers within your school or city. If you specify your school within your Edmodo profile, teachers from your school will be suggested (on the right panel of your homepage).
