Apologies for the ‘radio silence’ on the blog this week — our team has been attending the Florida Education Technology Conference (FETC) in Orlando and we got swept away in the frenzy of the show.
Edmodo partnered with FETC to provide backchannelling and conference evaluation support for the conference. During the week, 7,000+ attendees participated in over 200 concurrent sessions covering a wide range of Education Technology topics and issues. The Edmodo FETC Community provided an online forum for these sessions, including 200+ Edmodo groups for each of the conference sessions to allow participants to share ideas, download materials, and connect with other attendees. This kind of online discussion – ‘backchannelling’ – has become a critical part of professional development for educators, so it’s great to see Edmodo used in this way.
As of yesterday afternoon there were 7,495 total members in session groups and over 1500 posts to the session groups and the FETC Community. And that was just the conversation that happened during the show — we can’t wait to see the learning continue now that we’ve all returned home.
If you weren’t able to attend FETC, now is your chance to participate (and find the inspiration you need to join us in Orlando next year!) To view session conversations, download materials and connect with other FETC Educators:
1. Join the Edmodo community at Edmodo.com/FETC.
2. Review the Edmodo Group Code list for all of the 200+ presentations and concurrent sessions on the right side of the Edmodo community Page (note: you must be logged into Edmodo to view)
3. Join the groups you are interested in by entering the six digit code for that group under “Join/Groups” on the left side of your edmodo home page.
If you attended the show, we hope you enjoyed the addition of Edmodo — we’d love to hear your feedback, so please share your experiences in the comments below!
