Join in the conversation at this weekend’s Bay Area Maker Faire! “Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.”

A dedicated stage will be set up featuring presentations and interactive exhibits focused on education (view the schedule of  events). The EdSurge team is also hosting a special pavilion dedicated to “DIY Learning: The New School” which celebrates how educators, students and entrepreneurs are using technology to put students at the center of learning. Here students will demonstrate projects they built and how they learned along the way; teachers will talk about how students gained technical prowess, perseverance and joy in their accomplishments.

Follow along in the fun by joining the Maker Faire: DIY Learning community on Edmodo where they’ll be posting photos and updates from the pavilion!

Edmodo team members will also be on site. If any local Edmodo users are planning to attend, look out for us…..we’ll be sporting our Edmodo t-shirts!
