We are excited to share that Edmodo’s Chief Operating Officer Crystal Hutter has been named as a mentor for the second-annual “Citi Innovation Challenge” at this year’s Education Nation Summit. The challenge features three teams of young innovators from around the U.S. in a series of trials, culminating in a pitch competition at the 2012 Summit.
As a mentor, Crystal will provide counsel and support to each of the teams competing for this year’s $100,000 grand prize, which include:
- NoRedInk, which helps students improve their grammar/writing skills by creating content from their favorite celebrities, friends, and personal interests
- Pathbrite, a tool to help students – and learners of all ages – collect, track and showcase a lifetime of achievement, and recommend pathways for continuous success
- ReadImagine, which uses tablet technology and highly engaging content to foster active reading behavior, kindle imagination and improve literacy

In addition to the Innovation Challenge, Education Nation will also be hosting a Teacher Town Hall during the summit. Be sure to join the Education Nation Community on Edmodo to contribute in discussions that will help inform the dialogue on MSNBC’s broadcast of the Teacher Town Hall.
