Over the past few weeks you may have experienced intermittent outages on Edmodo. We know how frustrating this can be, especially when it occurs during valuable class time, so we want to extend our sincerest apologies and offer some insight.
Why the Outages Occurred
Here in the U.S., it’s back to school season and millions of teachers and students are accessing Edmodo. In fact, our community is growing rapidly and over 26 million teachers and students are currently using the site. As you can imagine, there is a huge amount of traffic and activity taking place at any given time. These extreme increases can sometimes cause Edmodo to experience latency, resulting in unplanned downtime for users.
Prevention Going Forward
We know you depend on Edmodo and we want to live up to the trust you place in us. We’re committed to applying all the lessons learned during this back to school period and have a team dedicated to making infrastructure improvements and creating an even stronger Edmodo.
