apple-heartRemember Valentine’s Day when you were in school? The excitement of making your classmates personalized cards and the anticipation (read: hope) of getting one from your crush that read, “I like you”?

Well today, there’s warmth in our hearts and blush in our cheeks. Not only did we meet many of you face-to-face at FETC and TCEA over the past couple of weeks, where you told us how much you LOVE Edmodo and all the ways you use it in the classroom; we’re also receiving some digital love within our Communities.

Check out some of the fun and clever ways people are showcasing their love (and talent) on Edmodo:

Mrs. Sarah Eaton, 1st-2nd Grade Teacher, Elizabeth Scott Elementary (Chester, VA)
I LOVE Edmodo. My second graders have enjoyed using the computers in a Blended Learning environment powered by Edmodo. They are totally engaged during that time period. I also like the connections and the ability to share ideas with peers from all around the world. I have learned so much from posts that other people have shared. Becoming an ESA has helped me grow in so many ways.

Here is my ode to Edmodo:?Oh Edmodo how you have helped me grow…let me name the ways:

E: is for Engaging my learners Every day
D: is for Digital learning made possible even on a snow day and weekends
M: is for Mobile learning for students on the go
O: is for Online collaboration and the resources it provides me & my class
D: is for creating Digital Networks which is a very powerful tool
O: is for Online delivery powered by Edmodo

Mrs. Sheryl Place, High School Teacher, Miami Killian Senior High (Miami, FL)
Mr. Edmodo,
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when exploring communities day and night
For the ends of Support and Ideals from my Connections
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, addressed by my PLC
I love thee freely, as I provide training for digital rights
I love thee purely, as they turn from newbies to Ambassadors who shed light
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old tech griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose when my district blocked all my apps
With my lost saints, Edmodo brought them back — I love thee with the breath
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if Edmodo choose,
I shall but love thee better after learning more from every blog post.

Mrs. Lynn Woods, 8th Grade Teacher, St. Gregory The Great (Virginia Beach, VA)
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Edmodo loves me,
and I love YOU (Edmodo)!

I love Edmodo for the connections it has given me. With just a few clicks, I can be connected to my students and stay connected whenever they need me. With just a few clicks, I can be connected to other educators who can offer support and advice whenever I need it. With just a few clicks, I can share the joys and frustrations of teaching with a wonderful group called Edmodo Support Ambassadors, my own personal cheering squad. With just a few clicks, I can be surrounded by Edmodo love! Thank you, Edmodo.

From Edmodo to You
Thank you to all the educators who’ve made Edmodo what it is today. Every interaction, email, and piece of insight leaves us inspired to make your Edmodo experience even better. We take it all to heart and work to fix the things you don’t like and enhance the ones you do.

“I love seeing how involved teachers get in sharing their own experiences and best practices. Seeing teachers assisting in the Edmodo Booth at FETC, sharing their best practices in the Teachers’ Lounge webinars, hosting Edmodo Twitter Chats, and more is awesome. So great to see teachers teaching teachers both on and about Edmodo!” –Brooks Dougherty, Edmodo Support

  1. I love the way Edmodo has constituted the motivating and engaged community of Practice I have not met elsewhere either virtually or physically.

  2. I love Edmodo for the growth I’ve witnessed in my 3rd graders. If I post a Padlet asking them to comment on a sticky note to vote on a book for reading groups or their favorite SuperBowl commercial, all of a sudden, I see many not just posting their thoughts, but creating their own Padlets.
I love Edmodo for introducing me to “Hour of Code” which has been a springboard into the world of programming for many of my students. I’m exchanging ideas with NCLab and trying to open our lab up for after-school or summers.
I love Edmodo because I have kiddos stuck at home on these snow days using my apps to create stories, communicate with their own mini plcs to design their own t-shirts for an upcoming STEM challenge.
    And the list goes on:)

I LOVE Edmodo for keeping my 5th graders engaged in responding to their reading!!
I am a volunteer working with a group of Gifted 5th graders needing some guidance in extending their reading experience. Thanks to The Book Whisperer (Donalyn Miller) and Edmodo their authentic responses get better everyday. I am not able to be in the school everyday so when I am gone, they communicate with me through Edmodo. They communicate with each other also.
We are building a beautiful reading community thanks to Edmodo!!1
