I love Tuesdays with Morrie – maybe because I am from Detroit, but I just love that movie and then of course, The Miracle Worker.
I love October Sky because it is reminds me that we all struggle between the visions of our parents and the visions and goals we have for ourselves.
Educating Rita
Blackboard Jungle has to be up there with these others.
I show October Sky every year to my 7th grade students during our school’s science fair. I love the perseverance of the students in the movie (based on a real life story) – especially of Homer Hickham who will grow up to become a NASA engineer. It’s also a great movie to introduce the “space race.”
I think Dead Poets Society is an absolute brilliant film Robin Williams performance is challenging and the movie covers teen suicide issues which is sad and can be true in real life.
I like a Spanish film: La lengua de las mariposas
