privacy-icon_lightAs part of our ongoing efforts to protect the privacy of our users, we’re excited to let you know that we’ve partnered with the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF), a Washington DC-based think tank that seeks to advance responsible data practices, to help educate schools, teachers, parents, and policymakers about privacy issues. Today, FPF announced the launch of a new web resource, FerpaSherpa.org, which provides a great set of easy-to-understand resources and links to privacy laws, best practices, and guidelines. Education is critical to addressing questions about privacy, and we think the FERPA|SHERPA website will really help everyone better understand these complicated issues.

As you get into the throes of back-to-school, we know that privacy issues are sometimes raised, and we want to reiterate that Edmodo has and always will be committed to safeguarding your privacy and your students’ privacy. That’s why we have a plethora of privacy protections built into our product, and it’s why we have so many employees dedicated to working on user privacy and security issues.  For further details about what we’re doing on the privacy front, please take a look at our privacy web page, which houses information and resources that you can reference anytime, anywhere.

We encourage you to check out the FERPA|SHERPA site and to share it with your peers.  And, as always, if you have any questions about privacy, let us know by contacting us at privacy@edmodo.com. We’re here to help.
