At BETT 2015, an international education technology tradeshow held annually in London, Edmodo announced a strategic partnership with Cambridge University Press, the publishing business of the University of Cambridge and the world’s oldest publisher. Through this joint venture, Edmodo will be helping Cambridge University Press bring premier educational content and technology to schools in the United Kingdom.
Similar to the U.S., educators are being challenged to simultaneously adapt to changing UK curriculum standards and integrate digital learning into their classrooms. To help U.S. teachers during their period of transition last summer, Edmodo launched Snapshot to give them a way to easily and regularly gauge student progress on standards through auto-generated quizzes with high-quality, standards-aligned questions. In the six months since launch, more than 26 million Snapshots have been taken by U.S. students.
Thanks to our partnership with Cambridge, Edmodo will be introducing Snapshot to the UK! Cambridge’s brand new content for reformed linear GCSEs will be exclusively integrated with Snapshot and cover the core subjects of Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Combined Science and Computing, so UK-based educators will be able to use Snapshot with their students to improve learning outcomes. Currently in development, Snapshot UK is slated for release in August 2015.
