A Global Math Challenge For Math-Loving Students
Posted by: Kevyn Klein, Director of Customer Success & Advocacy at Edmodo
With school swinging into full gear, we know teachers are on the hunt for creative ways to engage students. For math teachers in particular, we have an exciting new activity suitable for any K-12 classroom environment.
Edmodo has partnered with Sony Global Education, Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corporation, to bring the Global Math Challenge, a worldwide online math competition, to teachers and students around the world. We want to help students hone their numerical skills — and have some fun doing it!
To get a sense for the types of questions to expect, check out this Math Minds quiz and get students ready for some number fun. The Global Math Challenge is free for anyone that signs up using Edmodo Connect, a feature that enables login to third-party applications using Edmodo credentials. Students can take part in English, Chinese (simplified) and Japanese. Click here for details on how to get started.
Sony Global Education has also made Global Math Challenge materials available on Edmodo Spotlight. And remember, Edmodo Spotlight is a destination where teachers can upload self-created resources to share with other educators, too.
We’re excited to go back to school! Stay tuned to our blog for further updates on new teaching and learning opportunities. We’re always scoping for the latest and greatest tools so we can make learning better — together.
