How can educators and organizations creatively use the Edmodo platform to facilitate globally connected teaching and learning? On September 15th, we’re asking Edmodo users to show what they know and collaborate with others online. Global Collaboration Day is an opportunity for experienced global educators to help more students and teachers to connect virtually.
Edmodo is a global education network that helps connect all learners with the people and resources needed to reach their full potential. That’s why we are proud and excited to partner with the Global Education Conference Network to host the second annual Global Collaboration Day. Edmodo educators should consider designing and/or attending Global Collaboration Day events as we believe that we are the ideal platform for global collaboration.
On September 15th, 2016, educators and organizations will host of variety of globally connected teaching and learning events in their own time zones for students, pre-service teachers, in service educators, parents, and organization leaders. Activities will range from Twitter chats to webinars to mystery location calls to assorted asynchronous projects. Hosts are designers of activities and can select a variety of digital tools to support their learning goals. Take a look at a few posted events that are using Edmodo for inspiration.
- To host an event, follow these directions. Make sure to include Edmodo in your plan. You could use an Edmodo group, point to a Topic in Edmodo, and/or showcase a resource from Edmodo’s Spotlight.
- If you’d like to attend an event, browse the Global Collaboration Day directory and visit this page with specific directions. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see an event calendar in your time zone. Email individual hosts with any questions.
- Additionally, consider participating in a related event, the Great Global Project Challenge. Design a collaborative project and submit it to the GGPC directory. These projects will take place during the 2016-2017 school year.
