Number 3 will make you smile
Wondering what to get your teacher or your child’s teacher for the holidays? We asked some of our esteemed Edmodo teachers: What is your favorite holiday gift you’ve received from a student or parent? Here are their answers– so you can get your creative juices flowing:
8. Homemade snack packs
“My favorite one from a long time ago was a little snack pack. It had crackers, chocolate, peppermints, and a little container of the best cheese balls you’ve ever had! It was so good, I didn’t even eat it all, but saved some to take home for my husband to try! He loved it, too, so I got the recipe from the mom after Christmas and have made it at holiday times and many others for 30 years now! It was homemade, and it was delicious!” – Mrs. Vance
7. Books they’ll love
6. Gifts from the heart
“The rock was a sweet gift as it came from the student’s heart. We had spent all week reading books about the true spirit of the holidays and how to show and share love from the heart.” – Mrs. Eaton
5. A Hint of Heritage
“Once I got a Kahlua flavored cigar box from a Nicaraguan/Cuban student. Her father was a Cuban expat who had left Cuba after the 1950’s and set up a cigar factory business in Nicaragua. The cigars were spiced up with an amazing Kahlua blend. Perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee.” – Mr. Areas
4. Accessories with some “Teacher” Flair
“My all time favorite is a giant pencil shaped scarf that a parent knitted for me. It was yellow, with a pink eraser and a black point!” – Mrs. Osborne
3. Gift baskets for their pets
“I’m all about animals and my students know my second act after retirement plan is an animal sanctuary. One of my favorite gifts ever was the student who made a gift basket for my dogs. It included treats, toys, a dog calendar, and a gift card to PetCo. She knew the animals were the most important thing to me and acknowledged it with her gift. I loved both the gift and the thought that went into it.” – Ms. Siegel
2. Gift cards to treat themselves
“A gift card for a 1-hour massage. It was the best gift and was much needed.” – Mrs. Collins
1. One of the Classics: Chocolate!
If you don’t have time for the creative ideas above, have no fear– many teachers told us they still love receiving the classics, like chocolate!
“The most interesting gift I got was a personalized box of chocolate! The student brought it to school in a nice gift case from the chocolatier and the label said, “Merry Christmas, Mrs. Vance.” – Mrs. Vance
