The Edmodo staff is enjoying the holidays with friends and family this week, so we’re taking this opportunity to share some of our favorite and most popular posts from 2016 in their full text. We hope you’re having a pleasant holiday season, and we look forward to starting 2017 with you!
It seems that each school year, communication becomes more complex and more critical.
That’s why we’re excited to announce five new Discussion features for the upcoming school year. Naturally communication is key here at Edmodo, and it’s always on our to-do list to find innovative new ways to help our community connect with each other.
Below are features that our Edmodo teachers have been asking for, and we’re elated to share them with you this Back to School season!
1. Enjoy the convenience of threaded replies.
Now you can discuss issues on Edmodo, and reply to replies! This means teachers can reply to students, students can reply to other students, and teachers can have dynamic discussions in Topics!
2. Get someone’s attention with @Mentions.
Now you can tag someone in a post or a reply, by simply typing @ before their name. They’ll get a notification when you @mention them! It’s a great way to notify students when you reply to them.
3. Share the luv with Likes to replies.
Now in addition to liking a post, you can like replies as well!
4. Beef up Discussions by adding attachments to replies.
Now you can add attachments when you reply to posts! Share content more easily when someone in your network asks for content recommendations. Or have students include attachments when they respond to your post. Note: we are slowly rolling out attachment to replies and we plan to have this feature released to everyone soon!
5. Gain a world of clarity with handy In-Line Translations.
Now you can easily communicate in different languages! When you read a post, you can translate it with a click of a button. Great for communicating with teachers around the world or with parents who speak different languages.
Keep the conversation going — including with Edmodo.
We’re excited to bring you these new features, and our team hopes you’ll find them useful in your classroom communication. Try them yourself now!
