On August 7th, Michael Clark will be presenting his talk “Don’t be Afraid of PBL: A Real Example with 3D Printing” at EdmodoCon 2018! (Don’t forget to sign up!) We asked him a few questions about how he supports the success of his fellow teachers and advice for teachers around the world.
What’s your favorite way to support other teachers?
The best way I support teachers is by letting them know that I am here to help in any way I can. If I do not know the answer to something, I will keep asking other people until I find out the answer. Also, offering words of encouragement to others is what I try to do daily, you never know when that one positive comment/action might make a difference in someone’s day.
What’s one thing you wish every teacher knew?
If you are new to teaching or are not sure of how to do something, do not be afraid to ask! We are all in this together as a team.
What’s the greatest challenge you’ve overcome with the support of your school community?
Getting hands on learning in classrooms across camps can be challenging. However, with the commitment from my administration, faculty, staff, district, & community we continue to have our annual STEM Day where every classroom on campus for that day is doing a hands-on learning activity!
What’s your favorite resource on Edmodo?
Being able to talk with educators from around the world is a very powerful way to collaborate. My favorite way to do this is with Edmodo Twitter chats because you can discuss and learn about a wide range of current educational topics from anywhere you have an internet connection.
